Description
English: The image shows the centre of a polished slice of a petrified tree from Arizona. After enlargement of the image it is possible to discern the tunnels and cavities of living things deep inside the tree. They lived some 230 million years ago in the late Triassic.
Deutsch: Das Bild zeigt die Mitte der polierten Baumscheibe eines versteinerten Baumes aus Arizona. Nach der Vergrößerung des Bildes werden offengelegte Gänge und Höhlen von Lebewesen sichtbar, die vor etwa 230 Millionen Jahren während der späten Trias in der Mitte dieses Baum gelebt haben.
Français : Centre d'une tranche polie de bois fossilisé de l'Arizona. À résolution maximale il est possible de distinguer des galeries forées dans le bois. L'arbre et les animaux foreurs vivaient il y a 230 millions d'années durant le trias final. Taille de l'échantillon 15,34 × 18,04 cm.
